VET BOOKS for AFRICA
The Books For Africa 2010 trip will be happening in December 2010. The committee are currently working hard to raise the necessary funds for the trip. If you would like more information about the committee, or sponsorship opportunities, please see http://booksforafrica.org
Vet Books for Africa is the continuation of a project started in 1993 and is running as a biannual event. In this project, the Books for Africa team takes books to remote African veterinary faculties, thereby updating and expanding their libraries and improving the interaction between the University of Pretoria, Faculty of Veterinary Science, Onderstepoort and these establishments. The distribution of the information contained in the books and journals will serve to enrich the Veterinary field in other parts of the African continent as well as the lives of those people and animals that will benefit there from.
The project takes place during the December holidays every second year. The 2012 Vet Books for Africa team aims to visit universities in Zambia, Zimbabwe, Tanzania and Mozambique.
The 2008 and 2010 teams delivered textbooks to universities in Zambia, Kenya, Tanzania and Mozambique.
We wish the 2012 Team every success!!
