As we well know the main reason for coming to the University is to further your academic education. For this reason a lot of emphasis is placed on ensuring that a comfortable and ideal study environment is created. Olienhout has a history of great success regarding academics, with a second place for the last four years!

This is done in a number of ways, one of which is the enforcement of study times in the evenings. These are set times devoted for the sole purpose of academics. All students are also free to use the University’s 24hr study centers. Another measure set in place to ensure that studies are not neglected is the setting of a minimum overall average that must be maintained to ensure ones place in The Republic in the following year.

With so many other activities it becomes difficult to keep the correct balance of academics, sport/culture and social. Time management is therefore a key tool, which must be effectively used to ensure ones stay in The Republic is as enjoyable as possible.

There are a lot of challenges facing parents and students today. One of these is finances. The res assists by introducing the Olienhout Bursary Scheme. Through this initiative we hope to motivate students. This in turn will lead to better participation overall. For the amount of R20 p/m for at least a year, you can participate. Recipient students will receive R1000.00 discount on his student account.  Through your monthly payments you enable Olienhout to help your child, as well as other students.
