Sport

Sonop is, regarding the small number of residents, one of the University’s strongest competitors when it comes to sport. Sonop has a determining winning culture, and is well-known for their outstanding loyalty and sportsmanship. Sonop participates in several sport types, namely:

• Volleyball
• Athletics

• Soccer

The open lawn on the residence’s ground provide the Sonop men with on-going social sport activities, for there is frequently touch-rugby or cricket games on the “Weste” and “Noorde” sides’ lawn, road-cricket in the “Ooste” or a volleyball game on the tennis court.

During exam times there is a volleyball league between the different regions and the first years, they compete against each other for the yearly volleyball floating trophy, with promising nail-biting action.

Sonop is the only residence in the country with their own tennis court, cricket nets and squash courts. Sonop is proud to announce that in 2011 they are going to have our own gym.

The squash has their own internal league, where players challenge each other to improve their ranking position.
