Dining Facilities
We have a fully catered dining hall on the Groenkloof campus. This dining hall is shared with three other female residences. A variety of menus are available on a daily basis. In addition to these menus there is an ‘unbooked’ section where you can buy a range of snacks which are an absolute burden to your parent's pockets!

The University has given you an initial credit of approximately R 8600.00 to eat at the dining hall. This amount can be increased and decreased up to 100% at the Client Service Centre (CSC).The Amount approximately R 8600.00 is calculated as 52% of the cost of eating all three meals on the booked menu every day of your stay in the res. If you are lucky enough to have 100% of your meal money paid into your account by your parents you should have about R14000. For those students that are not studying towards a BEd degree, that is all students that are studying on main campus, there is a dining hall on the main campus. To have meals at this dining hall you must first transfer some of your money form Kiaat to Kloostersaal. Kloostersaal is by far the better dining hall on the UP campus.
All transactions on your dining hall account are made with your student card which you will receive on your day of arrival.
Just as a reminder: there are no hotplates in the res.
