Leadership for Africa

Transforming potential into sustainable reality

The ALCRL has been approached by the Uongozi Institute of African Leadership for Sustainable Development (UI) initiated to complete the Leadership for Sustainability research project.

This project is premised on the conviction that responsible leadership in Africa can play a major role in realising the continent’s potential. The project will steer clear of pre-conceived conceptualisations of what constitutes leadership. It endeavours to document the leadership resources that can enable societies across Africa to realise their potential, as well as to understand the challenges that disables the realisation of Africa’s potential. Simply stated the goal is to produce new theory about what constitutes effective leadership in Africa, to understand what disables effective leadership and to develop the implications for top political, business and civil society leaders.
