Research

The Albert Luthuli Centre for Responsible Leadership recognised, in line with leading scholars of this field, three core questions around which our research revolves, namely:

a) How do we define responsible leadership?
b) What constitutes responsible leadership?
c) How can we develop responsible leadership?

Linked to these questions the Albert Luthuli Centre for Responsible Leadership identified a number of relevant projects that investigate the emergence and development of responsible leadership within the context of a changing contract between leaders, organisation and society. A discourse set against the backdrop of securing a socially just and environmental sustainable future for all.

The research projects currently undertaken by the centre are as follows:

Ongoing supervision of Masters and Doctoral students also contribute to our research effort. Current Masters and Doctoral students with associated draft topics are:

1. Carmen Mollman: Potential market barriers for voluntary climate change mitigation mechanisms in the SA private sector
