During the course of 2003 students of Genesis, a society of the TUKS campus, saw the need for another day house on the campus of the University of Pretoria. One which would be able to participate on every level and every event that TUKS has to offer. A house that will think broader than the limitations of TUKS and its student life, and a house that will challenge residences head on!

Thus, Vividus was born. "Vividus" from the Latin word for: "Full of Life",
soon became our slogan and way of life.

Due to the fact that Vividus was birthed from Genesis most of our members were from this society at first; this however was not our aim and we grew from 50 members to 250 members during the first term. In 2005 the house was 800 members strong. In 2006 the 1000 milestone was crossed, proving that a four year old Vividus was a force to be reckoned with.

It was for this reason that the decision was made to split the house into Vividus Ladies and Vividus Men, both houses continuing on separate roads but with the same mission and vision.

Vividus Ladies grew into a well established house, and in 2008, celebrated our 5th year birthday with the birth of our mascot “Aspiros” (Latin for: ‘Full of Fire’). Aspiros (more commonly known as ‘Aspi’) is a phoenix, symbolic to Vividus Ladies for rising from the ashes that was Vividus into the now spectacular Vividus Ladies.

Today, Vividus Ladies are proud of their more than 800 members. Our first year ladies, known as Nitas (Latin for ‘Beautiful women of God’), are our pride and joy. Our Semi-ladies, known as Sparx, set the bar for our Nitas by being the small apark of light for the world slowly turning into a senior, also known as a ‘Vlam’, shining her light with pride and grace.

Vividus Ladies is now 10 years old, 2013 being our second 'Feesjaar'. We have definitely been showing TUKS that we are a force to be reckoned with, and our light will not be dimmed but only shine higher and brighter!
