We have 3 teams a u/20 team which is the team for the first and second years, the First team and the Second team known in Mopanie as the "Young Guns" or "Gunners".
Each team plays in their own league against other residences and faculty teams like EBIT, Tuks Academy etc.
2010
- The Gunners won the league against EBIT in the final.
- The First team played in the final against Onderstepoort.
2011
- All 3 teams in the finals of the Steinhoff Cup.

2012
Our first team carried on to play in the Varsity Cup res league of 2012 where we came third in a very tough pool against Dagbreek(Maties) , Vishuis(Kovsies) and Monitor(TUT).
We would continue to win the Tuks rugby league again in 2012 by winning Onderstepoort 15-12 in the final. Qualifying for the Steinhof Varsity cup res league for the second year in a row.
Mopanie played in the 2013 Steinhof Varsity cup res league we unfortunately came across some very tough competision and could not improve on our performance of 2012. In 2013 we played against Villiagers(Pukke), Maties Medies(Madies) and Madibas(NMMU)

Our basketball team won the league in 2011.
They played against Kiaat in the finals.

Our Cricket team won the league in 2012.
Beating Vividus with 3 Wickets
Our Cricket team continued their excellent winning streak in 2013 until losing our first and only game in 3 years with 2 runs.
But once again the Blue machine showed character by winning the semi finals with 113 runs against Jakkarandia and winning the finals with 23 runs against Olienhout to bring the Cricket trophy back home for the second year in a row.

The soccer teams practice in front of the residences and regularly have practice games against other residences when the soccer season is finished.

hockey
|
Mopanie offers hockey as well and we are quite a force to be reckoned with on the field. Last year we ended 5th and this year we are battling it out for the top position constantly.
