Mopanie is known for our impressive sports. In 2011 at the TuksRes prestige we won best sport residence award.
We actively take part in Rugby, Cricket, Soccer, Basketball, Hockey and Tennis.
Last year we finished in the Top 4 with the Basketball league, we won the Cricket in 2012 and 2013, in 2011 we had all 3 our rugby teams in the finals of which the first team came home with the Steinhoff Cup in 2011 and 2012 and went on to play in the Varsity Cup res league 2012 and 2013

Culture @ Mopanie is huge!!
Each residence competes against each other in 4 culture evenings a year, which is a themed social but with a cultural background and is not just another social.
Our culture events last year included
- Harvest Day
- Beer tasting in our clubhouse
- "Savage culture" with Klaradyn
- "Film culture " with Erika
Another big part of culture is the Ienkmelodienk, Serrie and Serenade Competitions.

RAG (Reach Out and Give) is a charity organization, run by Tuks RAG. RAG specializes in raising funds through student life (i.e. parties, floats, etc.) and then using those funds to reach out to people in need. The one thing that makes RAG stand out is that all charity work is physically done by students.
Here in Mopanie we strive RAG to the fullest. RAG continues throughout the entire year, and truly is a way for students to give back to the community.
Our float finished in second place this year in the RAG precession.

Every Thursday we have a themed social with a ladies residence of our choice and Mopanie never disappoints!
