OPVSC Community Engagement

 SPCA visit
 
On Saturday, 7 May the OPVSC spent the morning at the Waltloo SPCA. We helped
out with routine tasks such as feeding animals, cleaning cages, answering the
phone in the lost-and-found office and catching up on the filing. We also got
some veterinary experience; removing stitches and euthanasing animals with the
very efficient veterinary technician. The highlight of the day and the greatest
achievement was Jaco and Devin’s saving a spay case that was haemorrhaging
post-operatively. They placed an intravenous fluid line and she was looking far
more cheerful by the time we left.
