Hippokrates' House Week a great success

House Hippokrates hosted one of its longstanding traditions, House Week, between 7 and 12 May 2012.

The highly celebrated event was blessed with a prayer in Hindu to embrace the diverse religions that exist at Hippo. In the same event the archive room was put on display to appreciate those who have brought about change and reflect on how much the House has grown.

In addition, the house got its worship on alongside Celebration Church to praise the Most High. After that, it was a floor-eat-floor as different floors competed for the floorathon’s 1st place. Furthermore, this year’s floorathon was like no other, it featured a jumping castle reigniting the child in every housemate, tag of war, eat off competition and a lot of other games aimed at enhancing team work.

After all that scuffling, the house decided to simply stay in and watch some movies for the next day was going to be a big one. The long awaited day finally arrived, featuring dishes from all over. Housemates were proudly dressed in their traditional attires walking from one stand to another indulging in what was placed before them. Furthermore, the attendants have the privilege of tasting flavors from the Netherlands, Mauritius, Kenya, Namibia, Botswana, South Africa and Swaziland. Since the event was about embracing the different flavours that countries residing at Hippo have to offer, they decided to call it ‘Global Cuisine’. This was the first time ever an event of such magnitude was held and they are planning on making it an annual thing. Whilst on the same topic, Mauritius won the judges’ taste buds.

Last but not least, what a greater way to end an awesome week than with a social at Fountain Valleys and some indoor sports? Trust me, words are not enough. Do join us next year for ‘off the hook’ events.
