The University of Pretoria team, consisting of five honours students, won the South African local challenge which saw them advance to compete in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) regional final, which took place at the Barbican Centre in London on 14 and15 March 2012.

The University of Pretoria (UP) will host the National Oral Rounds of the 2nd National Schools Moot Court Competition from 27 to 29 April 2012. The presiding judges in the final round in Johannesburg will be eminent South African jurists and judges.

The Minister of Health, Dr Aaron Motsoaledi, has pledged to significantly improve the turnaround time of forensic toxicology results by adding a new forensic chemistry laboratory to the already existing services in South Africa.

Caridad Svich’s new play, The Way of Water, marks the two-year anniversary of the Deepwater Horizon BP oil spill this April with multiple readings across the US and abroad. The University of Pretoria's Drama Department, in collaboration with NoPassport Theatre Alliance and Press, will present a play reading of this text.
