Professor Christopher Niemiec from the University of Rochester, an established scholar and expert on self-determination theory, is visiting the Department of Educational Psychology between 22 and 28 May 2011.

On Day 2 of the CAA African Athletics Championships held in Benin, Elizna Naude won the second silver medal for TuksAthletics in the discus for women with a distance of 55,88 m.
Orazio wins first medal for Tuks

Shot-putter Orazio Cremona’s second-round put of 19,19 m earned him a silver medal on Day 1 of the CAA African Championships that was held in Benin. It was an improvement on his performance in 2010, when he received a bronze medal. It was the first medal for Tuks at this event.

The Veterinary Genetics Laboratory (VGL) of the Faculty of Veterinary Science, University of Pretoria highlighted the importance of DNA profiling in the fight against rhino poaching in a short movie, Rhinos under threat, which was screened at the Rio+20 Conference on 18 June 2012.

Reigning Africa 400 m hurdles champion, LJ van Zyl, will be defending his title and will try to win his fourth consecutive title at the Africa Senior Championships in Benin next week.
