TuksAthletics dominates SA Junior Team

A final team of 31 athletes have been announced to represent South Africa at the World Junior Championships in Barcelona, Spain from 10-15 July 2012. TuksAthletics contributed no fewer than 10 athletes to the team which includes Gerhard de Beer, bronze medal winner at the 2011 IAAF World Youth Championships.

UP appoints international expert in Genomics

Prof Don Cowan, an international researcher of note and the former Director of the Institute Microbial Biotechnology and Metagenomics at the University of the Western Cape (UWC) was appointed from 1 May to lead the newly established Centre for Genomics at the University of Pretoria. The Centre is essentially a virtual platform that facilitates and hosts the Institutional Research Theme (IRT) for Genomics.
