Team SA and TuksRowing’s Men’s Lightweight Four, Matthew Brittain, Lawrence Ndlovu, John Smith and James Thompson won gold at the 2012 London Olympics on Thursday with a winning time of 6:02.84.

The hours spent in preparation for the SIFE 2012 National Competition paid off for the team from the University of Pretoria, who made it into the final round. A total of 27 institutions took part in the competition and the UP team was awarded the third place.
