The first hearing evaluation, in real time, was conducted on a patient in Africa from the annual convention of the American Academy of Audiology in Dallas Texas on the 4th of April.

Prof Madeleine du Toit and a recent PhD graduate, Dr Warren Miglietti, of the Department of Materials Science and Metallurgical Engineering at the University of Pretoria were recently named winners of the Best Paper award for a paper presented at the International ASME Turbo Expo Congress in Berlin.

The University of Pretoria will today, 14 April 2009, confer an honorary doctorate in Education on a leading international academic – Prof Peter Salovey. The event takes place at 19:00 in the Aula (on the Hatfield campus). This is part of the Autumn Graduation ceremonies that start on 14 April and continue until 30 April.
