On 4 May 2011 Christo Coetzee will open an extraordinary exhibition of 64 of his works in the Edoardo Villa Museum, Old Merensky Building on the main campus of the University of Pretoria.

The Global Young Academy (GYA), an international, independent, science-based institution that aims for excellence and impact that was launched last year, elected Prof Bernard Slippers of the University of Pretoria (UP) as the Co-chair. Prof Slippers is an Associate Professor from the Department of Genetics in the Forestry and Agricultural Biotechnology Institute.

The Faculty of Theology at the University of Pretoria has celebrated the achievements of their students at the Autumn Graduation Ceremony on Friday, 8 April 2011. Seventeen students were awarded the degree Doctor of Philosophy.

Four of TuksSport High School learners were selected to be part of the SA team that will compete in the Southern Region Youth Championships in Windhoek, Namibia from 27-29 May. The four athletes have also qualified for the World Youth Championships that will be taking place in Lille, France in July this year.
