The Department of Human Resource Management offers the following two MCom degrees:
  • MCom Human Resource Management (Course code: 07250142)
  • MCom Industrial Psychology (Course code: 07250143) 

No more than 20 students will be admitted to the MCom programme.
We strictly adhere to admission requirements as stated in the 2015 Postgraduate Faculty yearbook selection regulations.Closing date for applications is 30 September.

MCom Information Brochure

  • Step 1:  Apply for admission to the University of Pretoria by completing the Postgraduate Application Form obtained from the University of Pretoria's Client Service Centre or apply online at www.up.ac.za.  Closing date for admission to the University of Pretoria application is 30 September.
  • Step 2:  Complete the Departmental Application Form and submit all requested documents to the Department of Human Resource Management.  Detail on front page of the Departmental application form. Closing date for Departmental application is 30 September.
  • All applications are subject to a selection process
  • If any prior qualifications have been obtained at a non-South African university, qualifications must be evaluated by SAQA (www.saqa.org.za) and attached to your application form. The University of Pretoria and its personnel cannot assist with this process. 

MCom Human Resource Management (Course code: 07250142)

Minimum admission requirements

  • A Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) accredited BCom Honours degree in Industrial and Organisational Psychology (IOP)  or Human Resource Management (HRM)
  • A minimum pass mark of 65% in the BCom Honours HRM degree.
  • All applications are subject to a selection process.
    • The following selection criteria will be taken into consideration
      • Academic achievement
      • Work experience
      • Recognition of prior learning
      • Research ability
  • The Head of the Department may, however, set additional admission requirements.

MCom Industrial Psychology (Course code 07250143)

Minimum admission requirements
