The Tuks Trampoline Club did extremely well. Competing against the best in SA, they walked away with all the medals in the Olympic Development event in both the male and female sections.
The Olympic Development Event is the highlight of the SA Gym Games, the most prestigious event. Regardless of age this Event is open to all trampoline gymnasts at the highest level who aspire to go to the Olympic Games one day.
All competitors have to do three routines - two routines in the prelims and one routine in the finals.
In the middle is the gold medal winner, Lucky Radebe, with the silver medal going to a very young Phillip Bruwer, who won gold and the SA title in the 15/16 age group. Both these gymnasts are learners at the TuksSport High School. The Bronze medal was won by Stephan Steenkamp.
Note: Phillip Bruwer and Reinhard Huiseman (TUKS Trampline club) are candidates for the 2010 Youth Olympic Games.
