TuksCricket player doing well for SA in the ICC U/19 World Cup in Australia

Tuks cricketer, Theunis de Bruyn, made his mark in the SA U/19 team.

The first match for the SA U/19 team in the ICC U/19 World Cup was played on Sunday, 12 August 2012. They played against Bangladesh U/19. TuksCricket player, Theunis De Bruyn, scored 63 runs off 54 balls to contribute to the team’s total of 294 runs in 50 overs with 8 wickets down. SA U/19 won by 133 runs. They are currently sitting at the top of Group D on the Log.
 
Their second match was played yesterday morning, 14 August, against Namibia U/19. South Africa batted first on a damp, sticky wicket and scored a massive 359 for 6 in 50 overs. Theunis de Bruyn missed out on the runs, but made it up in the bowling by taking 4 wickets in 5 overs.

Bowling figures for Theunis de Bruyn: 5 overs, 4 wickets, 20 runs. SA won by 209 runs.
 
The third match was played early this morning (SA U/19 vs Sri Lanka U/19), results to follow.
