TuksRugby : Champions start on scrappy, yet fruitful note
Gelaai op 19 April 2011
Defending Carlton Cup champions, Tuks made a scrappy yet fruitful start to the 2011 season when they took full points from the 27-13 win against Harlequins on 16 April.
It was a match Tuks will want to forget as soon as possible because they did not play well at all. It could be said that the wet weather made constructive play very difficult, but even so Tuks cannot use this as an excuse for their sloppy performance in especially the firt half.
Tuks nevertheless did enough to top the log after round 1, being one of only two teams to score four tries. Tuks and Naka Bulle both have five points, but the defending champions' point difference is better. Naka pulled off the first sursprise of the season by beating TUT 29-27.
In the other match Police won against Centurion (21-3).
