TuksRugby has produced yet another international player.
Corniel van Zyl, who resided in Sonop and studied engineering at UP, has been selected for Italy's national team after playing there for the last three years. There is every hope that he will accompany the Azzuri to the World Cup Tournament, kicking off in New Zealand on September 9.
Corniel started playing for Tuks' junior teams in 1998; in 2000 he progressed to Jongspan status and in 2001/02 he represented Tuks 1. He was also Tuks 1 captain in 2002.
His provincial career started in 2003 with the Pumas in the Currie Cup Competition. He also played for the Cheetahs.
