TuksRugby: Tuks tops in all five Blue Bulls leagues

TuksRugby’s teams have every reason to stand proud and tall on the eve of the Carlton League second round.

Five of the seven TuksRugby teams taking part in the Blue Bulls’ elite club competition finished in first place on the respective first round logs. Except for the u.19B team, all the other log winners were unbeaten.

UP-Tuks 1 retained the Lucas Strachan Shield on 26 May after beating Police in the first round final. They finished on 34 after winning all seven pool matches. UP-Tuks 1 scored 363 points and only conceded 92 (tries : 51-6). UP-Tuks 1’s biggest first round win was against Eastern Eagles (101-9). The average winning margin was 52-13.

In the Carlton second league, Tuks Fezelas amassed 380 points in their seven first round matches and only conceded 50 (tries 56-6). The average winning margin was 54-7. Fezelas finished on 34 log points.

Tuks Pumas, taking part in the Carlton third league, also finished on 34 log points (points: 276-40; tries 40-5). Their average winning margin was 39-8.

Tuks Jongspan gets the prize for the most points (455-76) and tries (67-9) scored by any Tuks team. They finished on 39 log points in the u.21A league, averaging a winning margin of 59-8.

Tuks u.19A had as little trouble to dominate their league and was the only UP team to get full log points (25/25). They scored 296 to 20 points and 43 to 3 tries. Their average winning margin in the u.19A league was 59-4.

In the u.21B league Tuks u.19B won four of its five matches and topped the log with 20 (points: 268-60; tries: 35-7).

In total, the five Tuks first round winning teams played 34 matches in which they scored 2039 points and only conceded 338 (tries: 283- 36).
