Tuks' team in joyous mood after the 62-28 win against Silver Valke.
Tuks and arch rival Police will contest the 2010 Carlton Cup Championships Final to be played at Loftus Versfeld on Saturday, 14 August.
These two teams also met in the 2009 final when Police clinched victory in the extra time.
Tuks yesterday qualified with a resounding 62-28 win against Silver Valke whilst Police went through on a technical point. The score in their match against TUT was still level after 20 minutes extra time (26-26). According to the championships rules, Bobbies went through because they were on the score board first (both teams scored two tries).
Tuks’ match against Silver Valke started dramatically. Valke kicked off and after a terrible blunder by Tuks scored the first try with the clock at only 40 seconds.
Tuks were quick to respond though and at halftime (41-7) it was as good as game, set and match for the 2009 runners up. They lost some focus early in the second half, allowing Silver Valke to narrow the lead to 41-21.
All in all Tuks were just too good for their gallant opponents, scoring 8 tries to 4. It was by far Silver Valke’s biggest defeat of the season.
