Faculty of Engineering, Built Environment and Information Technology School of Engineering
New Second, Third and Fourth Year Curricula: 2009, 2010 and 2011

The new curricula in the School of Engineering started being phased in from 2008 and the fourth year will be phased in during 2011.

1.        A number of modules in the current third year curriculum will not be presented 
           again in 2010.


2.        A number of new second, third and fourth year modules will be introduced in
           2009, 2010 and 2011.

3.         Any modules taken in advance (outside of your year of study), are always taken at your own risk and may be replaced with other modules and/or other content in the following year(s).
 

4.         Automatic recognition will be given for all modules with exactly the same code. All other recognition/credit of modules must be applied for and will be considered by the respective Heads of Departments if the content of the two modules are substantially the same.

 

5.         SECOND YEAR STUDENTS

It may well occur that if you do not complete the full new second year curriculum in 2009, you will not be able to comply with the pre-requisites of the new third year curriculum in 2010.

 

THIRD YEAR STUDENTS

It may well occur that if you do not complete the full new third year curriculum in 2010, you will not be able to comply with the pre-requisites of the new fourth year curriculum in 2011.
