Salmita Madingoaneng will be visiting James Madison University in the United States for several months - starting next week. Salmita has been a star student in the Department of Early Childhood Education's B Ed-degree in Early Childhood Development and Foundation Phase.
She will be hosted by prof Teresa Harris, formerly a visiting scholar in the Department of Early Childhood Education in the Faculty of Education. Salmita has been preparing herself for this extended visit by studying the opportunities offered at James Madison and the scholarly community there. "I will make the most of this wonderful opportunity!", she says.
Upon her return Salmita aims to pursue postgraduate studies in this crucial field of education: "It is so interesting to see what is the same and what is different in this field in different contexts and I want to learn more".
