Professor John Sharp, Deputy Dean, is the Chair of the Research Ethics Committee. The Committee meets on the last Thursday of every month (except December) to determine the ethical implications of research proposals and applications.

The process of application for ethical clearance of research may be delayed if the procedures set out in this document are not adhered to. The Chair of the Committee urges anyone applying for ethical clearance to ensure that the necessary information be submitted in full in order to finalise the matter as soon as possible.
