Ward Anseeuw, a development economist and specialist in public policy, obtained his PhD in Economics at the University Pierre Mendes France (Grenoble, France). Having worked as a research associate at INRA (Department Sciences for Action and Development), he is presently a CIRAD researcher based at the University of Pretoria, responsible for several research programmes including "the land question in South Africa" and "agricultural policies in the framework of NEPAD". He has been conducting research for the last 9 years in Southern Africa and more particularly in South Africa on agrarian and land reforms and the restructuring of the agricultural sector. He has published extensively on these issues in internationally renowned scientific journals.
