Chancellor’s Award: Research

Prof Scholtz is ’n professor in die Departement
Dierkunde en Entomologie en word
as een van die wêreld se voorste navorsers
van die Scarabaeoid y navorsing ontvang,
onder meer die Dozor and Friends of Ben
Gurion-navorsingstoekenning van die Ben
Gurion-universiteit in Israel, die British Council
Travel Award en die Overseas Development
Agency Visitorship Award. Hy is die outeur of mede-outeur van vier boeke, het
vier hoofstukke tot ander boeke bygedra en
meer as 150 wetenskaplike artikels in portuurbeoordeelde vaktydskrifte gelewer. Hy
het ‘n A-gradering van die NRF en het die
Toekenning vir Uitnemende Presteerders en
die Kanselierstoekenning op vorige geleenthede
ontvang.

Prof Scholtz is a professor in the Department
of Zoology and Entomology and is considered a world leader in Scarabaeoidea (dung beetles) reasearch. He is a member
of the American Coleopterists Society, the
European Association of Coleopterology,
the Zoological Society of Southern Africa
and a fellow of the Royal Entomological
Society. Prof Scholtz has won numerous
awards for his research, including the Dozor
and Friends of Ben Gurion Award for Research
from the Ben Gurion University in
Israel, the British Council Travel Award
and the Overseas Development Agency
Visitorship Award. He has authored or
co-authored four books, contributed four
chapters in books and more than 150
scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals.
He is an A-rated NRF scientist and has
received both Exceptional Achievers Awards
and the Chancellor’s Award on previous
occasions.
