Congratulations to all the winners of Prestige 2011
TuksRes Prestige Event 2011
The Department of Residence Affairs and Accommodation recently held their annual Residences Prestige evening on Tuesday, 12 October 2011 at the Rembrandt Hall at L.C. de Villiers Sports Centre. The evening was hosted by TuksFM DJ Alex and the excitement filled the air from the second the night kicked off.
Four categories make up the Prestige final percentages for all the residences, this being RAG awards (25%), Sport (25%), Culture (25%) and Academics (25%). Winning most of these categories doesn’t necessarily mean that that residence will walk away with the title of residence of the year; you need to obtain great performances in all of these four categories.
Each service provider was given the opportunity to thank and reward the house committee member who took part in their services and they kept everyone on the edge of their seats. At the end of the night Houses Mopanie and Curlitzia were crowned as residences of the year, in the men and ladies category respectively.
Prof. Roelf Visser, Director: Residence Affairs and Accommodation awarded House Katjiepiering with the Director’s Award. This award goes to a specific residence each year that made a significant impact and a positive change amongst their residents and the TuksRes family as a whole. Well done to the ladies of House Katjiepiering.
Other results include (ladies and men winners):
RAG : Houses Madelief and Olympys
Culture : Houses Erika and Boekenhout
Sport : Houses Mopanie and Madelief
Academics : Houses Curlitzia and Olympus
Congratulations to all the winners of Prestige 2011 – it is evident that hard work and commitment has paid off.
