Dr Willem Fourie from the department of Dogmatics and Christian Ethics recently completed the first book dealing with the work of the ethics scholar Wolfgang Huber.
As part of the research for the book Dr Fourie visited the acclaimed scholar in Germany.
Huber’s work is specifically relevant to the theological scene in South Africa in the way he defines the concept of "freedom", combining both the liberal and more socialistic schools on the concept. This is useful to the South African context as it provides a platform on which economic and political freedom can jointly be discussed.
