Mathematicians celebrate Spring DayPosted on 20 September 2010 .jpg) Members of staff with the Vice-Chancellor and Principal, Prof Cheryl de la Rey Spring Day 2010 saw staff members take a break from their normal day to day activities, luring them into the fresh spring air. The cross country fun walk / run on the LC de Villiers sports grounds proved to be a popular event with the vice-chancellor, Prof Cheryl de la Rey taking part herself. The picture shows staff members pleased to be joining her in the event. The potjiekos competition followed, bringing the creative side of many departments to the fore. Prof Johan Swart prepared the delectable mathematics potjie, praised and enjoyed by all. A relaxed kuier around the potjie amongst staff and their families concluded the pleasurable day.
