Jenna Burchell is winner of the Thami Mnyele Fine Arts Awards 2011.

Jenna Burchell, a graduate of UP Fine Arts, was awarded first prize at Thami Mnyele Fine Arts Awards at the official opening of the exhibition on Saturday 24 September in Ekurhuleni.

Jenna was awarded R30 000 in prize money for her sound installation, Lilies, 2010. Another recent graduate, Jayne Crawshay-Hall, was joint-winner of the merit prize for painting for her work [UN]wrapped Series: Self portrait (2010).

The exhibition will be open free of charge for public viewing from Sunday 25 September 2011 until Sunday 16 October 2011. The Coen Scholtz Recreation Centre will be open (free of charge) weekdays 9:00 – 16:30.
