Audiology workshop - resounding success

Record attendance exceeding 200 audiologists at workshop with international speakers, Dr James W Hall & Marlene Bagatto.

The two day workshop hosted by the University of Pretoria in collaboration with H.A.S.S. on 30 & 31 July 2009 was a resounding success. The workshop format was unique since it included live demonstrations on actual patients with an interactive question format.

Dr James W Hall III, who is from the University of Florida but also holds the position of extraordinary professor at the University of Pretoria, presented on advanced diagnostic procedures on the first day. On day two, Marlene Bagatto from the National Centre for Audiology at the University of Western Ontario (UWO) in Canada, presented on advanced hearing aid fitting and verification with on-stage demonstrations.

This unique learning opportunity provided valuable theoretical and clinical exposure to the latest developments in audiological diagnosis and intervention.

I am very happy to see wonders like this happening in Audiology. I am very keen to study this course next year, because I believe, impaired and disorders people need to be given the cure and love for their hearing, as some of us are very fortunste to hear properly.
