By winning the 400-metre hurdles in a time of 49.11 seconds in Velenje, Slovenia on Friday night, two-time Olympian LJ van Zyl qualified for the IAAF World Athletics Championship in Moscow.
Cornel Fredericks finished in 3rd place in 49.81s.

Top juniors Magda Kruger, grade 12 TuksSport High School learner and Bianca Theron put South Africa in command at the Regional All-Africa Challenge Trophy (RAACT) with blistering performances in Tuesday’s first round at Centurion Country Club. Kruger blitzed her home course with a flawless seven-under-par 65, while Theron from Devonvale Golf Estate responded with an equally impressive 66 to combine for an opening total of 13-under-par 131. The two remaining South Africans, Lara Weinstein (hpc/TuksGolf Academy) and Sylvia Masango, carded non-counting rounds of 71 and 76 respectively.

As a rower Matthew Brittain certainly does not need an introduction. Especially not after last year’s Olympic Games in London. He, together with Sizwe Ndlovu, John Smith and James Thompson, won the gold medal in the men's lightweight coxless fours event.
But recently dramatic changes have occurred in the sports life of Matthew Brittain, hpc sponsored athlete because of a serious back problem. On doctors advise to take a break from rowing for a year to give the injury the necessary time to heal he took up mountain biking.

Rowing showed dominant performances this weekend at the SA Nationals rowing championships at Roodeplaat dam a.k.a "the plaat". Our rowers showed how to apply the hours of hard work they have put in and continue to put in to become the best rowers in the world. Some of the performances include having 7 boats in the final, with only 8 boats competing, in the men’s pair with Tuks finishing 1-6th and 8th in this final. Winning the men’s and women’s 8 crews with the men also finishing 2nd in this event. Our women showed also dominant performances joining the men in winning the Women's double and the women’s sculls.

The hpc/ Tuks triathletes competed on 17 March at the 2013 East London ITU Triathlon Premium African Cup and the 2013 SA Triathlon Championships. Eddie van Heerden finished 1st in the Junior Boys event with Marc Greyling in 6th place. Wian Sullwald came 2nd in the ATU Buffalo City Africa Cup with Wikus Weber in 7th position. Wian Sullwald took 2nd place in the SA U/23 Championships while Wikus Weber came 2nd in the SA Elite championships.

The crucial four winning points for their narrow 15.5 – 12.5 victory were secured by SA number two Zander Lombard and hpc sponsored athlete, his playing partner Louis Taylor and new caps Gerlou Roux and Callum Mowat in what turned into a cliff hanger final round. The SA team won the Leopard Trophy for the third time in four years at Leopard Creek on 6 March.
