Veelkantige reaksie benodig om Xenofobie te bekamp

Die Sentrum vir Menseregte in die Fakulteit Regsgeleerdheid aan die Universiteit van Pretoria spreek sy kommer uit oor die onlangse toename in xenofobiese geweld dwarsoor Suid-Afrika. Dit kom na berigte oor die aanvalle en moord op Somaliese burgers in Diepsloot, Gauteng, en buite Port Elizabeth in die Oos-Kaap.

Audrey Lenoge, 'n spesialis inligtingsbeampte in die OR Tambo Regsbiblioteek by die Fakulteit Regsgeleerdheid is die trotse eienaar van 'n brons Comrades medalje nadat sy die wedloop voltooi op Sondag, 2 Junie 2013. Audrey sê dat sy op die pad was vanaf 05:30 tot 17:20.

Die G20-Jeugforum was die grootste internasionale byeenkoms wat in 2013 vir jong leiers aangebied is, en meer as 1 500 jong leiers, studente en akademici, verteenwoordigers van die sakewêreld en regerings het daaraan deelgeneem.* Ses studente van die Universiteit van Pretoria is as verteenwoordigers van die Suid-Afrikaanse jeugkontingent gekies om die Forum van 17 tot 21 April 2013 in St Petersburg by te woon.

Ann Skelton die bekleër van die UNESCO-leerstoel in Onderwysreg

Sebastiaan Roes is 'n professor by die Centrum voor Notarieel Recht van die Radboud Universiteit in Nijmegen, Nederland. Hy het middeleeuse geskiedenis en notariële reg bestudeer. In 2006 verdedig hy sy PhD-tesis, wat handel oor die geskiedenis van die Hollandse Reg ten opsigte van die oorlewende gade tot 1809. Gedurende die somer van 2012 is prof Roes 'n besoekende professor aan die Universiteit van Pretoria, waar hy binne 'n paar dae Afrikaans ten volle bemeester het. Ons het hom 'n paar vrae gevra...

The LLM/MPhil in Human Rights and Democratisation in Africa is a unique programme to which 30 individuals from African countries are admitted. The programme is presented by the Centre for Human Rights at the Faculty of Law, University of Pretoria.

Registration Open: World Human Rights Moot Court Competition

Every university in the world is invited to present a team of two students – preferably one woman and one man – to the 5th World Human Rights Moot Court Competition which will be held in Pretoria from 8 to 10 December 2013. The universities first have to submit memorials on the basis the hypothetical case. The first selection of Universities will be on the basis of written memorials.
