In commemoration of the University’s Centenary in 2008, a birthday celebration will be held for staff on the Hatfield campus on Friday afternoon 8 February.
While the occasion promises to be a joyous and fun occasion with eats and drinks and music, it will also provide an opportunity to remember the remarkable achievements and exceptional contributions of students and staff during the past 100 years and reflect on the way forward. An interdenominational thanksgiving will be included in the programme.
The birthday celebration is the start of a prestigious programme of events planned to commemorate this historic milestone of the University. The programme, listed on the website, will offer something for everyone associated with the University and promises to provide plenty of occasions for academic, cultural, social and sport interaction.
Preceding the birthday celebration on Friday will be another fun event – a candlelight procession by students on Thursday evening to light the Centenary flame to be erected in front of the Client Services Centre. The route and arrangements for this event will be announced early in the new year.
The birthday celebration is going to be a party that no one will want to miss. Diarise the date and join us there to share in our proud history.
Invitations to and details of the birthday party will be sent out before the end of the academic year.
