Welcome to TuksVolleyball

TuksVolleyball is open to students, staff and anybody who is interested in the sport. We train Mondays and Wednesdays at the UP Sports Campus. TuksVolleyball is affiliated with the Gauteng Volleyball Union and participates in the league. There is a women's and a men's team, the development session is mixed.

Huge teaching development grant for UP - 19/08/2014
The Department of Higher Education and Training has granted funding of R8 million for the development of higher education based on a project plan put forward by the University of Pretoria and the University of Cape Town. The University of Pretoria (UP) will be coordinating this development that will focus on the establishment of a collaborative open educational resource term bank (OERTB) for higher education.

Research into SA’s unique ritual-liturgical landscape - 19/08/2014
Prof Cas Wepener, a C2-graded researcher from the Department Practical Theology at UP, is researching South Africa’s ritual-liturgical landscape, which he describes as a fairly unique landscape that cannot really be equated with that of any other country. Ritual expressions of religion and spirituality in South Africa challenges the traditional theological discipline of Liturgical Studies that was born and raised in the West, thereby providing interesting research possibilities into this discipline.

Prof Brenda Wingfield appointed as Acting Dean for Faculty of Natural and Agricultural Sciences - 18/08/2014
Prof Brenda Wingfield was appointed as the Acting Dean of the Faculty from 15 August 2014. She succeeds Prof Anton Ströh who served the Faculty as Dean for ten years. He is presently the Vice-Principal: Institutional Planning at the University.

Prof De Jongh appointed as Adjunct Professor in Australia - 18/08/2014
Professor Derick de Jongh, Director of the Albert Luthuli Centre for Responsible Leadership (ALCRL), was invited by the Asia Pacific Centre for Sustainable Enterprise(APCSE) at Griffith University in Australia as a visiting professor, after which he was also appointed as an Adjunct Professor at the institution.

Two Tuks researchers awarded at WISA (Women in Science Awards) - 18/08/2014
Two women currently busy with their doctoral studies at the University of Pretoria won fellowships of R40 000 each at the 2014 “Women in Science Awards” of the Department of Science and Technology. The awards were presented at a gala event at the Hilton hotel in Johannesburg on Friday.

UP curator participates in world-class art exhibition - 18/08/2014
Artist Daniel Rankadi Mosako, curator of the Edoardo Villa Museum and Collection based at the University of Pretoria, was selected to represent South Africa at the 2014 UNESCO Art Camp held from 17 to 21 July in the historical town of Ordino, Andorra where he joined 29 other fine art artists from various countries. Andorra is a small state located in the Pyrenean mountains in southwestern Europe.

Dr Forbes wins SACI award for educational spectrophotometer - 15/08/2014
