Welcome to the home of Champions!

 

TuksNetball invites you to join us for the 2014 Netball Season. Don’t let your talent and passion for netball go to waste this year. TuksNetball is an Open Club, so you don't have to be a student to play, everyone is welcome! You will meet some interesting people and make a lot of new friends while you train hard and live out your passion. It’s never too late to join TuksNetball!

 

TuksNetball offers the opportunity for all Netball players to reach their full potential.  At TuksNetball, the possibilities are endless; we have full programmes that cater for all areas of participation:

·         High Performance – with 5 Proteas, including  Erin Burger, Chrisna Bootha, Melissa Myburgh, and Vanes-Mari du Toit  (to name a few);

·         Junior High Performance – 35 Gauteng North Players, 8 SA age group Squad players;

·         Club participation – 10 TuksNetball teams in different age categories (namely Tuks 1 & Jongspan, u20, u19, Divas, Mens and 4 Tuks League teams)

·         Social Participation – Intramural League, Tuks League, and Fastnet / Fast5

·         Junior Programme – which includes players aged 7 to 18

 

 

Netball Season: February – June (Tuks League) / November (Tuks HP Players)

 

Team Training Sessions

Mondays to Thursdays                      18h00–20h00

*All sessions will take place at the Sport Campus, Outdoor Netball Courts


Registration Fee:

A.     High Performance Member –

Registration fee = R 750.00

Registration Includes:

Minimum of 2 training sessions per week throughout Netball Season February-October, Coaching by TuksNetball NSA-qualified coach or equivalent, High Performance League matches as per yearly HP League Calendar, Affiliation to Gauteng North Netball, TuksNetball T-Shirt/Vest

Registration to be completed and paid by end February of the relevant Calendar year.

 

B.     Tuks League Member –

Registration fee = R 500.00

Registration includes:

Minimum of 1 training session per week throughout Netball Season February-June, Coaching by TuksNetball Sport Science student or equivalent, Tuks League matches as per yearly Tuks League Calendar, TuksNetball T-Shirt/Vest

Registration to be completed and paid by end March of the relevant Calendar year.

 

C.     Junior Programme Member –

                       i.        Tuks Junior Netball Programme Member

Registration fee = R 300.00

Registration includes:

Minimum of 1 training session per week throughout Netball Year January-November, Coaching by TuksNetball NSA-qualified coach or equivalent, Tuks T-Shirt

 

                      ii.        Performance Improvement Programme Member (by Invitation only)

Registration fee = R 300.00

Registration includes:

Minimum of 9 training sessions during 4th Quarter (October-November), Coaching by
 TuksNetball NSA-qualified coach or equivalent, Tuks T-Shirt

Johan Thom, ín uiters produktiewe kunstenaar wat reeds talle toekennings ontvang het en tans as Ďn dosent in die Universiteit van Pretoria se Departement Beeldende Kunste werksaam is, sal binnekort sy PhD-graad van die University College of London (UCL) deur die Slade School of Art ontvang. Thom, wat in 2008 ín Gemenebesbeurs van die Canon Collins-trust ontvang het, het verlede jaar na Suid-Afrika teruggekeer om as die koŲrdineerder vir nagraadse studente by die personeel van sy alma mater aan te sluit.

Sentrum vir Menseregte stel gender-ouditinstrument bekend - 30/07/2014
Die Sentrum vir Menseregte het onlangs ín gender-ouditinstrument bekendgestel wat ten doel het om gendergelykheid/-ongelykheid by hoŽronderwysinstellings in Afrika te ondersoek. Die instrument, wat deur die Noorweegse Ministerie van Buitelandse Sake befonds is, is ontwerp vir introspektiewe ondersoek na die stand van gendergelykheid/-ongelykheid by hoŽronderwysinstellings dwarsoor Afrika met die doel om groter genderpariteit teweeg te bring.

Eerste ERSA Dinamiese CGE-modelleringskursus - 29/07/2014
Die Departement Ekonomie was in Julie 2014 gasheer van die eerste Ekonomiese Navorsing Suider-Afrika (ERSA) Dinamiese Berekenbare Algemene Ekwilibrium (CGE)-modelleringskursus. Die kursus is deur prof Peter Dixon en prof Maureen Bleazby van die Sentrum vir Beleidstudies, wat nou by die Victoria-universiteit in Melbourne, AustraliŽ gesetel is, aangebied.

UP het nou ín satellietnavorsingsfasiliteit in Thohoyandou, Limpopo! - 29/07/2014
Die Departement Urologie en die Skool vir Gesondheidstelsels en Openbare Gesondheid in die Fakulteit Gesondheidswetenskappe by die Universiteit van Pretoria (UP) doen reeds die afgelope 12 jaar lank navorsing oor menslike en omgewingsgesondheid in die distrik Vhembe in die Limpopo-provinsie. Diť navorsing, wat deur die Nasionale Instituut vir Omgewingsgesondheidstudies (NIEHS) befonds word, is ín samewerkingspoging tussen prof Brenda Eskenazi, die Direkteur van die Center for Children's Environmental Health Research by die Universiteit van KaliforniŽ se Berkeley-kampus in San Francisco, VSA, en prof Riana Bornman van die Departement Urologie by UP.

Navorsing verken die drywers van verbintenis en prestasie - 28/07/2014
Dit is ín bekende feit dat verbintenis fundamenteel is vir die meeste groot prestasies van mense. Maar hoe beÔnvloed en versterk identiteit mense se verbintenis en hoe verskaf dit ín raamwerk vir die verwesenliking van toekomsdoelwitte? Watter faktore maak mense se gedrag op die lange duur voorspelbaar en volhoubaar, en wat is die gevolge van verbintenis? Dit is die vrae wat prof Salome Human-Vogel wil beantwoord deur haar jongste navorsing oor die faktore wat mense dryf om hulle doelwitte te bereik, veral diť wat ín rol speel in hoe mense hul eie gedrag reguleer.

Internasionale vereniging vereer prof Kobus Maree as uitnemende sielkundige - 25/07/2014
'n Internasionale eer het professor Kobus Maree, dosent in die Departement Opvoedkundige Sielkunde, Fakulteit Opvoedkunde aan die Universiteit van Pretoria (UP), onlangs te beurt geval. Hy is as genoot van die Internasionale Vereniging vir Toegepaste Sielkunde (IAAP) aangewys tydens hul vierjaarlikse internasionale kongres in Julie in Parys. Die kongres is deur 4 500 sielkundiges van 100 lande bygewoon.
