TuksHockey, otherwise known as Hockey island, has been turned around over the last 12 months into an environment of success, camaraderie, passion and enthusiasm. Members are enthusiastic and share the common TuksHockey passion. TuksHockey management, coaching staff and the committee have worked hard to not only improve the management of the club but to also ensure a visual change. TuksHockey have lead the way with vibrant red and blue astro tying in with the signature TuksSport colours and brand.
The flagship teams namely the 1st teams, lead the way with the double Northerns league victory. Our 'lower' teams were also dominant in their respective leagues with the Men's 4th ,5th and 6th as well as Ladies 7th team playing in respective league finals and they are to be commended on this remarkable achievement. The TuksMasters team won the 2012 Master's League in true Tukkie style.
TuksHockey is now home to 13 Senior Ladies Northerns players, 15 senior men's players, 5 junior national squad members and 8 senior Protea squad members. In addition to this the Northerns U21 ladies coach and manager, the Northerns men's coach, one of the National ladies assistant coaches and one of the men's National assistant coach, are all convincing evidence of the caliber of coaching staff within TuksHockey. David Viney is also an accredited SAHA coaching course facilitator and at times presents coaching courses on behalf of Northerns Hockey.
TuksHockey has taken bold steps during 2012, and will continue to challenge the norm as we persevere in our pursuit for excellence, WITH US .......NOT EVEN THE SKY IS THE LIMIT
