The Tuks Cricket Club was started in 1938, by Prof. Tobie Louw, as a men’s cricket club and the club broadened its horizons in 1996 by starting a women’s cricket team. TuksCricket is not only a cricket club, in 2008, Rob Walter – currently the Proteas strength and conditioning coach – started the TuksCricket Academy which consists of a junior and senior academy.
TuksCricket has won the NCU women’s league 11 times since the 1996/97 season; the NCU SuperSport Club of Excellence 10 times since the 1998/99 season; the NCU Premier League 10 times since the 1997/98 season, the NCU Knock Out 7 times since the 2001/02 season: the National Cricket Club Championships winners in 2003, 2012 and 2013 as well as USSA in the 2011/2012 season.
In the 2012/2013 season, TuksCricket won 12 trophies. They are the current holders of the NCU Knock Out Competition, the NCU T20 Club Competition, NCU Premier League and the Momentum Club Champs trophies. The Club also won the NCU reserve league for the second year in a row and Tuks 5, 7 and 8 won their respective leagues. The Assupol Tuks Ladies team also won their NCU Premier League and NCU T20 League.
Assupol TuksCricket is currently ranked as the number 1 club team in the country.
