The training was aimed at equipping participants with master training skills on various topics, ranging from characteristics of an effective trainer. Aspects addressed included: female condom – clarifying myths and misconceptions, introduction to FC2 and change from FC1 to FC2, comparison between FC2 and male condom barrier method protection, sexual and reproductive rights, advocacy for the FC2 and community involvement in FC2 promotion, emergency contraception, risk assessment, behaviour change, safer sex negotiation, FC2 promotion and demonstration and identification of IEC and training materials needs. By the end of the training, participants developed individual training plans that they are expected to implement in the course of the year.
