But it is also much more than that: it represents an idea, namely the idea of a society ruled by law and not by individuals. This idea is pursued by our Faculty through a focus on law, and on excellence in all fields of law. On 4 May 2012, law students were afforded the opportunity to attend a seminar on Environmental Law, presented by Matthew Burnell, director at Bell Dewar.
The Faculty of Law proudly participated in the Annual Open Day of the University of Pretoria which took place on Saturday, 19 May 2012.
On Tuesday, 15 May 2012, Ms Navi Pillay, the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, presented the Annual Helen Kanzira Memorial Lecture at the University of Pretoria.
