Mobileread community - an online community dedicated to the exchange of ideas and information relating to all aspects of digital, especially mobile, reading.
- iBala consortium - Raising awareness of mobile technologies within the LIS profession
- Southern African Online User Group - a forum for the exchange of information on current developments, applications and opportunities in the expanding field of online information in the broadest sense.
Things I'm proud of
- I run media tablet workshops to help staff members investigate how to integrate these and other mobile devices into their work.
- I consult with the Department of Library Services about ebooks, ereaders and media tablets. This includes training librarians in the use of such devices.
- I've been actively promoting the use of so-called web 2.0. technologies [1] [2].
- I curriculated a course in publishing in the digitial environment inspired by Dr. Karen de Wet.
- I curriculated a course in virtual environments, which has a strong focus on virtual reality, virtual worlds and augmented reality. My students make virtual worlds.
