Launch of Seminar Series in Faculty of Natural and Agricultural Sciences

Prof Johann Engelbrecht (Vice Dean: Teaching, Learning and Community Engagement), Prof Anton Ströh (Dean: Faculty of Natural and Agricultural Sciences), Prof Richard Stirzacker and Prof John Annandale (Acting Head: Department of Plant Production and Soil Science Education).

Prof Stirzaker is the Principal Research Scientist at the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) in Canberra in Australia.

The CSIRO is Australia’s national science agency and one of the largest and most diverse research agencies in the world. His address entitled Out of the Scientist Garden: A story of water and food gave insight on how the current generation needs to double food production again in an era when we no longer have cheap fuel, fertiliser and abundant supplies of fresh water.
