Central Administration Office

This office is responsible for the provision of a centralized administration and transactional service, including the capturing and processing claims, appointments, terminations of service, employee data changes and all transactions that impact on the payroll. Most enquiries with regard to these transactions can be addressed to HR Business Partners responsible for a particular faculty or support service department. The Control Officers in this section are:

This section in the Shared Services Division also takes responsibility for maintaining the post structure of all positions in the University for budgetary and staffing purposes. The responsible officer is Bettie du Plooy, bettie.duplooy@up.ac.za, x2083.

For the administration of benefits eg. retirement funds, long service awards, group life scheme and medical aid, the following two Benefit Officers take responsibility for this function:

Recruitment Office

The Recruitment Office is responsible for the administration and support of recruitment by means of advertising, applicant screening and capturing of applicant detail. It also manages the logistics associated with the selection process for support service departments. Faculty HR structures manage the selection and appointment processes for academic departments.

The Recruitment Office is managed by Sandy Williamson, sandy.williamson@up.ac.za, x4357.

Records Office

This function is responsible for scanning, indexing and retrieval of HR Records and serves as  HR information respository services. The Section is managed by Janine Esterhuizen, janine.esterhuizen@up.ac.za, x 3941.
