SHORT COURSE IN BASIC STATISTICS

The purpose of this course is to provide delegates with a general understanding of the role of statistics and application of statistical techniques using statistical software for utilisation in the managing environment. This course is accredited by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA).

SHORT COURSE IN STATISTICAL MODELLING

This 3 day course follows on from the Short Course in Basic Statistics. The course provides all persons working with data with a general understanding of statistical modelling and the application of statistical models using basic software packages. This in turn greatly enhances the ability of individuals such as; economists, accountants, managers, educators, engineers, health professionals, biologists and civil servants, to make effective decisions within their organisations.

AEL Mining Services in Modderfontein (+-40 minutes from Pretoria) have a job opportunity for a Masters or Doctorate student for 2-3 days a week for about 6 months. It will involve statistical analysis of data looking into the cause of large variation in a detonator - a problem arising in a process with many steps. The cause must be identified.
