Over the course of the last 5 days TuksSwimming has been represented with pride by our 2008 Paralympian and 1st Year B Sports Science student, Emily Gray, at the Pan Pacs Disabled Swimming Championships in Edmonton, Canada.

Faculty celebrates opening of Institute for International and Comparative Law in Africa (ICLA)

The Faculty of Law at the University of Pretoria (UP) celebrated the official opening of the Institute for International and Comparative Law in Africa (ICLA) on 1 and 2 August 2011. This celebration coincided with a three-day conference on "African Constitutionalism: Present Challenges and Prospects for the Future". The Deputy Minister of Justice and Constitutional Development, Mr Andries Nel, officially opened the ICLA and the conference on 1 August. The keynote address at the opening function was delivered by Professor Emeritus Yash Ghai from the University of Hong Kong and former chairperson of the Constitution of Kenya Review Commission. On the evening of 2 August, Ms Naledi Pandor, Minister of Science and Technology, delivered an address during a dinner at the ICLA.

"Frontlines", the latest Drama production, is a collaboration with DUT and UKZN that creatively explores aspects of war and global conflict. It runs from 23-27 August 2011.
Park-and-ride facility provides relief for limited parking on and around campus

The University of Pretoria has to manage a large volume of commuters travelling to the Hatfield Campus on a daily basis. The University's park and ride facility provides a solution to the problem of finding parking on and around the Campus during office hours. This service-which is free of charge-offers staff members and students peace of mind because they can park their cars in a secure environment at the LC de Villiers Sports Centre. From there they can travel by shuttle to the Hatfield Campus.
