The Department of Library Services at the University of Pretoria officially opened the Leadership and Training Centre and Research Commons in the Merensky II Library, situated at the University’s Hatfield Campus. This is a dedicated advanced research space for postgraduate students at masters and doctoral level as well as for researchers and academic staff at the University of Pretoria.

The National Excellence in Teaching and Learning Awards Selection Committee have announced that Prof Marietjie Potgieter of the Chemistry Department of the University of Pretoria has been selected as a recipient of a commendation award.

A new and the first newspaper produced by the second year Journalism students at the University of Pretoria, The Mamelodi Voice, was launched in Mamelodi by the Minister in the Presidency, Minister Trevor Manuel.

Two of our criminology lecturers, Dr Francois Steyn and Dr Karen Booyens, were awarded the best paper award in the category Criminology at this year’s CRIMSA Conference that was held at the University of KwaZulu-Natal.
