The Ring Road will be partially closed from Thursday 7 May 2009 onwards. A temporary entrance to provide access to the Administration Building will at the same time be opened in Lynnwood Road.

DST supports tree genomics and bioenergy initiative at UP

The Department of Science and Technology (DST) has awarded a strategic grant of R1.5 million to a team of UP researchers in support of a project to decipher the complete transcriptome (DNA sequence of all expressed genes) of a Eucalyptus tree and to produce a high-density molecular marker map of the genome of this tree.

High Performance Centre (hpc) and SSMU sponsored canoeist Bridgette Hartley continues to fly the flag for SA Canoeing. After her Gold and 2 bronze Medals a week ago in Racice, Czech Republic, Hartley was joined in Poland by the rest of the SA Canoe Squad for the World Cup in Poznan.
